As many of you know, President Obama gave a speech to America's students today. Well, to most of the students. The ones whose parents aren't paranoid that Obama's going to hypnotize the masses over television, creating Obama's Army, later to be used to overthrow the capitalist system and democracy and all that is good and pure in the world, that is. So what does a 7yr old take away from Obama's attempt at indoctrination? Here's a list of take-home points my second-grader told me:
Remember if you have friends, school will be funnest if you do.
If you're mean, you'll have to go to the principal (for the ones who are new).
Your teachers help you out a lot on things you need help with.
School is a safe place to be.

Interesting perspective! Our district was not allowed to broadcast or use any parts of the speech because so many of our parents called in to complain. I find it hilarious, since 90-something percent of our parents who voted even voted for the jerk - I mean, Obama. So I'm totally confused at why they wouldn't want their kids to see it.
Unless Obama said something about personal responsibility. No wonder they didn't want their kids to hear it. What? No handouts? I won't get more free stuff? No child should hear that!!
Grr. I'm running off to read the speech now, since I haven't even had time to look at it yet.
