Sloths make me happy

I have been in a surly mood since the numbness wore off from my dentist trip.
~My THREE HOUR visit to the dentist,~
where I had one tooth filed down and fitted for a crown;
a second tooth gutted to remove the decay
(the dentist says that one may end up needing a crown);
and a third tooth filled from a cavity that was positively miniscule
compared to the rest of the mess that is my mouth.

And my teeth hurt.
And the inside of my cheek hurts
in the two places where it, too, got inadvertently filed.
(That has happened with every dentist. I have a notably small mouth.)

In addition to all the comments on my unusually small mouth,
I was also subject to this exchange:

"Bite down on this so we can get an impression of your tooth....
No, bite down ALL THE WAY...
Oh, you are biting down.
That's your bite?
THAT'S your bite!
(quickly grabs more putty)
We need to get an impression of that bite."

In short, today's assault,
coupled with the fact that I am apparently allergic to my new climate zone,
makes for an unhappy head indeed.

But then I saw this picture,
and I am inexplicably filled with glee.

Sorry about the rough day. I'm glad someone got some amusement off that sloth photo, it always makes me laugh.

Oh, I have been there with the marathon dentist visits, small mouth and all. I hope you get to rest and eat your favorite squishy food (mashed potatoes for me!).

you must get "score ne for the sloths" to read to your kid -- it is by Helen Lester and you will both love it.

Thanks for the tip! I looked it up on Google Books, and it does look cute!
