Jay: It was sent to my entire department by one of the professors. He said "it should give us all humility, but also inspiration." He didn't explain what he meant -- inspiration to do what??? Aftersox: Thanks for the link to the comic. That was great! I am quite the fan of plain speech (in my department, we all have to read Becker's Writing for Social Scientists). But I do have a tendency to speak like a stats book sometimes...I wonder what qualitative sociologists think when they see this?
